Length matters most. A strong password is at least 14–16 characters long, random, and uses a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
Is this password generator safe?
Yes. Passwords are generated in your browser using the secure Web Crypto API. They are never sent to our server, logged or stored.
What is a passphrase?
A passphrase is a sequence of random words, like “river-candle-orbit-mango”. It is long, very hard to guess, and much easier to remember than random characters.
How is the crack time estimated?
It is based on the password’s entropy, assuming an attacker can try 10 billion guesses per second — a very fast, offline attack.
Should I reuse passwords?
