Why do broken links matter for SEO?

Broken links frustrate visitors, waste Google’s crawl budget and stop link value flowing through your site. Fixing them improves user experience and helps your pages rank.

What counts as a broken link?

Any link that returns an error status such as 404 Not Found, 410 Gone or a 5xx server error, or a link to a domain that does not respond.

What does “blocked” mean?

Some websites (like LinkedIn or Amazon) block automated checks and return 403 or 999. These links usually work for real visitors, so they are shown separately.

How many links can I check?
