Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 150 = 150 × 20 ÷ 100 = 30.
How do I calculate percentage increase?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. From 80 to 100 is (100 − 80) ÷ 80 × 100 = 25% increase.
How do I calculate marks percentage?
Divide obtained marks by total marks and multiply by 100. For example, 850 out of 1100 = 77.27%.
What is the difference between percentage and percentage points?
If a rate goes from 10% to 12%, it rose by 2 percentage points, which is a 20% increase.
How is a discount calculated?
Final price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A 25% discount on 2,000 gives 1,500 and saves 500.
