What is keyword density?

Keyword density is how often a word or phrase appears compared to the total number of words, shown as a percentage. For example, a keyword used 10 times in 1,000 words has 1% density.

What is a good keyword density?

There is no perfect number. Most SEO experts recommend using your main keyword naturally, usually around 0.5–2%. Much higher can look like keyword stuffing.

Where should my target keyword appear?

In the title tag, the H1 heading, the meta description, the first paragraph and a few subheadings — while still reading naturally.

Can I check a competitor’s page?

Yes. Enter any public URL to see which keywords and phrases the page focuses on.

Why are some words missing?

Common stop words (the, and, for, with…) and numbers are filtered out so you can focus on meaningful keywords. You can turn the filter off.
