Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the IP Location Lookup.
Back to the toolHow accurate is IP location?
Country is accurate for almost all IPs; the city is usually right within 25–100 km. It shows the provider’s network location, not a street address.
Can I find someone’s home address from their IP?
No. Only internet providers can link an IP to a customer, and only share it with law enforcement.
Why does my IP show a different city?
Mobile and some broadband providers route traffic through a central hub in another city.
What is an ASN?
An Autonomous System Number identifies a network on the internet, usually belonging to an ISP, cloud provider or large company.
Can I look up a website’s location?
Yes. Enter the domain and we look up the location of the server it points to. Sites behind a CDN show the CDN’s location.
