Open Graph (og:) tags are meta tags that control the title, description and image shown when a link is shared on Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and many other apps.
Why is my link showing the wrong image?
The og:image tag may be missing, too small, or blocked. Social networks also cache previews — after fixing the tags, use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger to refresh the cache.
What size should the og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels (1.91:1) is the best size for all platforms. Keep the file under 5 MB and use JPG or PNG.
Does WhatsApp use Open Graph?
Yes. WhatsApp reads og:title, og:description and og:image to build link previews.
What is the difference between og: and twitter: tags?
X (Twitter) reads its own twitter: tags first and falls back to og: tags. Adding twitter:card="summary_large_image" gives you the big image preview.
